Effectiveness of Natural Science Teaching: How to Implement Effective Natural Science Teaching Strategies into Basic Education Especially Fifth Grade?

This study aims to examine the teaching effectiveness of natural science teachers in basic education, particularly for grade five (5), using a new learning paradigm that aligns with the 2014 national curriculum for basic education. The researcher conducted this research at the fifth-grade primary schools of Central, Catholic Primary Schools of Saint Domingos Sávio, and CAFE School. This study employed a qualitative research method, utilizing a descriptive approach. Which present description related to the data. The data collection method involved interviews and observations related to natural science teaching strategies and their implementation in basic education. The subject that involved were science teachers and students ‘from five grades. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The study employs thematic analysis as the data analysis method. The research results indicated that fifth-grade teachers have implemented learner-centred strategies; however, their implementation is not perfect. Nevertheless, this approach is effective because it enhances children's learning in science and boosts their understanding and scientific self-empowerment

So far, the use of teaching materials in class VII of SMP N 1 Barumun is still less interesting and the learning method tends to be teacher-centered. Students' problem-solving abilities are also still poor with a percentage of student completion in the pre-test of 16.67%. So in an effort to improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities, one of them is by developing teaching materials using the reciprocal teaching model. The teaching materials developed are teacher books, student books, lesson plans and student worksheets. This study aims to determine how to develop teaching materials to improve problem-solving abilities using the reciprocal teaching model in class VII of SMP N 1 Barumun in the 2024/2025 academic year. This research is a research and development (R&D). Using the 4D development model. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The validity of the teaching materials gets a value of 90% which is in the "Very Valid" category. The practicality of the teaching materials gets a value of 91.73% which is in the "Very Practical" category. The effectiveness of the teaching materials gets a value of 86.67%. (2) Mathematics teaching materials developed using the Reciprocal teaching model can increase students' mathematical problem-solving abilities by 70%

Challenges and Opportunities in Teaching Mathematics in Timor-Leste’s Primary Schools: A Systematic Review

The review analyses educational difficulties alongside teaching possibilities that arise within Timor-Leste's primary school mathematics education. Many barriers obstruct effective mathematics teaching despite extensive school improvement initiatives by creating problems with unqualified teachers and limited educational resources, which make student understanding complex because of language barriers. The post-conflict recovery context of Timor-Leste adds more difficulties to the educational system because it has damaged the school infrastructure and teacher development processes. Recent structures of curriculum reform target the modernisation of teaching techniques with peer collaborative initiatives that support educator professional development as administrative forces advance mother tongue-based educational programs for increased student comprehension through native language instruction. This review combines information from ten studies about the current mathematics education status of Timor-Leste, which helps policy leaders and education professionals gain important knowledge. The mathematics education system of Timor-Leste requires special interventions that combine competent teacher training with appropriate financial resources to support teachers in resolving existing difficulties while utilising language effectively for developmental gains

Many students still perceive mathematics as a difficult and uninteresting subject, which results in low learning motivation. One approach considered effective in addressing this issue is game-based learning, which can create an interactive, enjoyable, and meaningful learning environment. This study aims to describe the concept of game-based learning, its implementation in mathematics education, and its effects on increasing students’ interest and motivation, particularly through Islamic-themed educational games. This research employs a literature review method by analyzing theories, books, and previous studies.The findings show that the use of educational games not only enhances students’ active engagement and facilitates their understanding of mathematical concepts but also provides a more enjoyable learning experience. Previous studies confirm that educational games can increase learning interest by up to 70–80% and foster positive attitudes toward learning.Moreover, the integration of Islamic values within educational games has been proven to strengthen noble character development, such as honesty, responsibility, and patience.Therefore, Islamic-themed educational games can serve as a strategic alternative to improve the quality of mathematics learning, provided they are supported by proper planning and teachers’ readiness in implementing them

The Effectiveness of Learning Management Systems (LMS) in Enhancing Learning Experiences toward Achieving SDG 4: Quality Education

This study examines the effectiveness of the use of the Learning Management System (LMS) in improving the student learning experience in higher education, as well as its contribution to the achievement of the goals of Quality Education (SDG 4). Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this study analyzed 15 scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025, which focused on the use of LMS in improving student learning outcomes, motivation, and independence. The results showed that the use of LMS consistently improved learning outcomes by between 10% to 20%, as well as increased student learning independence by between 15% to 17%. LMSs such as Moodle, Edmodo, and Google Classroom have proven to be effective in supporting flexible and interactive learning. In addition, the integration of artificial intelligence in the LMS further strengthens the adaptive learning personalization. The study also found that LMS plays an important role in supporting the achievement of SDG 4 by expanding access to inclusive and sustainable quality education, as well as improving the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of learning around t he world, thereby supporting broader education transformation

Pembelajaran seni musik di sekolah dasar memiliki potensi strategis dalam membentuk sikap dan karakter siswa, termasuk sikap keberagamaan. Perkembangan teknologi digital membuka peluang integrasi media digital dalam pembelajaran seni musik, salah satunya melalui pemanfaatan lagu religi digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran lagu religi digital dalam pembelajaran seni musik terhadap sikap keberagamaan siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus yang dilaksanakan di SDN 1 Pakalu 1. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dan dokumentasi. Wawancara dilakukan kepada guru dan siswa untuk menggali pengalaman pembelajaran, pemaknaan lirik lagu, serta perubahan sikap keberagamaan siswa, sedangkan dokumentasi digunakan untuk memperkuat data berupa perangkat pembelajaran dan aktivitas kelas. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan lagu religi digital, khususnya lagu Asmaul Husna, mampu membantu siswa memahami dan menginternalisasi nilai-nilai keagamaan seperti kasih sayang, keadilan, sikap pemaaf, dan pengendalian diri. Pembelajaran seni musik berbasis lagu religi digital menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan dan bermakna, sehingga memudahkan siswa mengaitkan makna lirik lagu dengan perilaku sehari-hari di lingkungan sekolah. Evaluasi Manajemen Kegiatan Tausiyah Subuh di MTs Darul Hikmah Sikilang Kecamatan Sungai Aur Kabupaten Pasaman Barat

Penulisan artikel ini dilatar belakangi oleh kurang disiplin dan bertanggungjawabnya peserta didik dalam mengikuti kegiatan Tausiyah subuh ini karena ada yang terlambat datang ketika acara bahkan ada juga yang tidak hadir ketika acara telah dimulai. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian lapangan (field research) deskriptif kualitatif yakni penelitian yang dilakukan dengan mengambarkan keadaan objek pada saat sekarang berdasarkan fakta-fakta yang tampak sebagaimana adanya. Adapun sumber data penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, waka kurikulum, waka kesiswaan, khususnya adalah pembina kegiatan Tausiyah subuh, koordinator keagamaan yang ikut mengelolaan kegiatan Tausiyah subuh ini dan peserta didik yang mengikuti kegiatan Tausiyah subuh. Penulis mengunakan teknik observasi dan wawancara. Sedangkan teknik pengolahan dan analisis data yang penulis gunakan adalah mereduksi data, menyajikan data, dan kemudian melakukan verifikasi serta menarik kesimpulan. Menguji keabsahan data dengan menggunakan teknik triangulasi data yaitu membandingkan hasil data observasi dan hasil wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa kegiatan Tausiyah subuh ini dalam perencanaan guru tidak menuliskan tujuannya tapi hanya dari lisan saja, sehingga Pelaksanaan kegiatan Tausiyah subuh ini kurang efektif karena kurang adanya perhatian dari pembina, dan kegiatan ini dilaksanakan 1x seminggu yaitu pada setiap subuh, hari jum’at sampai 06-30,. Penilaian dari kegiatan Tausiyah subuh ini berdasarkan kehadiran siswa, keaktifan, kreatifitas ketika tampil, dari penilaian yang dilakukan oleh pembina tidaklah adil karena dalam penilaian yang dilakukan tidak dituliskan secara detail apa bentuk tindakkan yang dilakukan peserta didik. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian terhadap manajemen kegiatan Tausiyah sudah bagus tapi belum memenuhi teori dari sebuah manajemen yang baik

Evaluasi Program Tahfizh Qur’an di SD Negeri 10 Lubuk Layang Kecamatan Rao Selatan Kabupaten Pasaman

This research aims to: 1) evaluate the context of the Qur’an recitation program for the SD Negeri 10 Lubuk Layang. 2) evaluate the input of the Qur’an recitation program for the SD Negeri 10 Lubuk Layang. 3) evaluate the process of the Qur’an recitation program for the SD Negeri 10 Lubuk Layang. 4) evaluate the product of the Qur’an recitation program for the SD Negeri 10 Lubuk Layang. This research is an evaluative type of research with a descriptive qualitative approach, in this study using the evaluation model of the Stufflebeam theory, namely CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product). Data obtained by interview, observation and documentation. Data analysis used in this study by reducing data, after that it is presented in the form of description and verified by drawing conclusions.The results of this study indicate that: 1) the evaluation results of of the Qur’an recitation program for the SD Negeri 10 Lubuk Layang show that the program has clear goals and plans. 2) the results of evaluating the input of the Qur’an tahfizh program are known that the competence of the thafizh teacher is appropriate because it has memorization and the ability to understand the reading of the al-Qur’an, while students participating in the tahfizh program have high memorization in memorizing.Besides this program is supported by good infrastructure, especially with the guidance book that is owned by each student. 3) the results of the evaluation of the Qur’an tahfizh program shows that the process of implementing the qur’an tahfizh runs efficiently and in accordance with what hasbeen agrred upon. The method used is talaqqi, and which is an obstacle in the implementation of tahfizh Qur’an namely the lack of time tahfizh hours and the lack of tutors of tahfizh Qur’an. 4)Product evaluation results show that the achievement of the target memorization of students goes according to the target, althought there are still those who have not passed the test but iit can be overcome by the teacher tahfizh. The conclusion is that the Qur’an tahfizh program in SD Negeri 10 Lubuk Layang runs according to a predetermined plan, although in its implementation there are some obstacles that must be corrected. Tahfizh achievementsof good students are caused by the existence of good cooperation between schools and parents at home to jointly provide encouragement, support and supervision in memorizing children’s Qur’an

The paper aims to describe and evaluate the effectiveness of fiqh learning in MDA PERTI kenagarian Baruh Gunung in developing fiqh learning, which is one of the obligatory subjects of prayer, learning that contains worship that will be done by students in their daily lives. It is expected that students can understand with the learning provided so that it is correct in its implementation. The type of research carried out was an evaluation with the CIPP (context, input, process, and product) of stuffebeans. Research results found, first, the learning context that is in accordance with the prevailing vision and mission learning produces capable students. And professional educators with their knowledge; third, the quality of the fiqih education process in the understanding of students is still low because of the lack of educator attention to studentss being able to practice in daily life.
