Abstract

This study aims to examine strategies for optimizing the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in guiding Generation Z in the digital era. The research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. The study was conducted at a vocational high school (SMKN) in the city of Pariaman. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that PAI teachers face challenges in adapting teaching methods to align with the characteristics of Generation Z, who are accustomed to a digital environment. Nevertheless, the learning process can be carried out effectively by integrating technology, applying contextual learning approaches, and emphasizing ethical and collaborative practices. This study highlights the importance of enhancing digital literacy, providing continuous professional development for teachers, and encouraging collaboration among stakeholders to build students' religious and moral character in the era of digitalization. Overall, these findings offer practical insights for developing adaptive and relevant PAI learning strategies that meet the needs of contemporary learners
